About Dr. Julianna Bianes
In therapy and in life, healing happens in relationships, when we are supported, understood, and reminded that we do not have to carry everything by ourselves.
You may be coming to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly carrying experiences that have shaped you in ways that don’t always make sense yet. You might notice patterns in your emotions, relationships, or reactions and wonder, Why do I respond this way? For teens and adults with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence, this can also include feeling misunderstood, mislabeled, or exhausted from trying to fit expectations that never quite worked.
I’m Dr. Julianna, a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in trauma, attachment wounds, neurodivergence, and relational challenges, and I also offer ADHD assessments and therapy for teens and individuals navigating ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My work is rooted in the belief that every person’s history holds both wounds and strengths — and that understanding how those experiences shaped you is key to meaningful, lasting change.
Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It’s about helping you understand yourself with greater clarity, compassion, and choice.
What It’s Like to Work Together
I approach therapy as a gentle, collaborative process. Clients often describe feeling seen, safe, and supported, while also gaining insight into patterns that may have been operating outside of awareness. I balance warmth with thoughtful guidance, helping you slow down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and translate insight into practical change.
My style blends intuition and structure. I pay close attention to emotions, relational dynamics, and what may be unspoken, while also helping clients clarify next steps in a way that feels grounded and manageable. Therapy can hold deep and painful work, but it can also include moments of curiosity, humor, and relief — those small moments that remind us we are more than our wounds.
Whether we are working through trauma, navigating ADHD or neurodivergence, supporting a child or teen, or helping a couple rebuild connection, I move at a pace that feels safe and respectful. You don’t need to have everything figured out — readiness can be as simple as curiosity and a willingness to explore.
My Background & Experience
I hold a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree and am a licensed clinical psychologist (License: PSY36441). I have been practicing for over 10 years in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, community mental health, and private practice.
Earlier in my career, I worked in community mental health in one of the most under-resourced areas of New York, supporting children in foster care and individuals who had experienced severe abuse, neglect, and attachment disruptions while also navigating ongoing life stressors. That work deeply shaped how I show up as a therapist — with patience, humility, and a strong belief in each person’s capacity for healing, even when progress feels slow.
My clinical training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic and relational therapy, parts work therapy, Imago-informed couples therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, and play-based approaches. I also have a strong interest in assessment and offer psychological evaluations for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), allowing me to integrate both analytical and relational perspectives in my work.
